Both days of tryouts went well these last few weekends. There was a great show of support and interest in our club. The DOC, Coach Kenny Morgan, will review the rosters with the coaches this week, so the final placements can be made. When the high school season is complete, PBFC will offer an additional tryout for high school students. Please check back for more details. US Youth Soccer mourns the loss of Dr. Thomas Fleck

I am sad to pass along the passing of Dr. Tom Fleck, "Doc". He was educator, genius, mentor, and friend to FYSA and many of the coaches on our staff. The high standards and the legacy he left us will live forever through the people he touched. We have in Florida a unique staff and much of the family feeling credit is tied directly to the direction he had for us. Many of the older staff coaches have continued this feeling and the willingness to stand up for what is right for our players. For those of you who were not fortunate enough to work with "Doc" a brief bio from US Youth Soccer is below. No matter what is written it would only scratch the surface of the man.

TOPS: The Outreach Program for Soccer

Coming Soon to Perdido Bay Futbol Club

Kenny Morgan, Director of Coaching for for the Perdido Bay Futbol Club, recently attended a coaching certificaton course for TOPSoccer. TOPS (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers.The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy and girl, who has a mental or physical disability. Perdido Bay Futbol Club will be starting such a program in the near future. Please contact Kenny Morgan at doc@perdidobayfc.com for information or if you are interested in helping.

PBFC's Kenny Morgan attends National Soccer Coaches Association Director of Coaching Course in Gainesville, GA.

Kenny Morgan, the Director Of Coaching for PBFC, attended a Director of Coaching Course this past season in Gainesville, Ga. The course was sponsered by the National Soccer Coaches Association in conjunction with US Club Soccer. There were 38 DOC’s in attendance from all over the US. The Director of Coaching Diploma is a 21 hour course designed to address the issues confronting the Director of an American Club. The course covered topics such as club organizational structure, evaluation of both coaches and players as well as the fiscal, legal and moral responsibility that clubs face today. "The instructors were excellent and the exchange of ideas between the coaches was very informative," said Kenny.

The club’s Director of Coaching (DOC) and Director of Training (DOT) are engaged with every team during the season.

The DOC, Kenny Morgan, trains with every team 1-2 times a month and the DOT, Coach Fraga DaRosa, trains with every team once a week.

The coaches, DOC and DOT combine to provide top quality technical and tactical training required by today’s competitive youth soccer players.
